Prevalence rates for commonly occurring conditions will be compared between populations along with findings on victimization and self-harm behaviors. The PADDI, a structured interview, will be used to illustrate strategies for assessment and to provide data and publications for this course. |

This learning module will address important issues in the assessment of individuals charged with driving under the influence or while impaired by alcohol or other drugs. The topics to be covered include the importance of distinguishing persons meeting alcohol dependence criteria from those who do not and ways of making this distinction. Both brief and comprehensive interviews will be used to illustrate techniques for obtaining concrete and documentable information.

The CAAPE, a structured interview covering 7 Axis I and 6 Axis II areas in addition to substance use disorders, will be used to illustrate strategies for assessment and to provide prevalence indicatons. |
